Woman’s Worries Are Prayed Away

woman to woman sharing Good NewsJyoti spent her time caring for her two children and trying to ensure her family was run well, while her husband labored in short-term jobs to provide for them. But when the summer came and her husband did not get any jobs, the worries of each day became nearly unbearable.

Jyoti worried relentlessly about how her family would survive. Eventually, the stress was more than her body could handle, and she became very sick.

During this time, Vimla, a Gospel for Asia (GFA) Women’s Fellowship leader, and other women from the fellowship came to Jyoti’s village. They met Jyoti and shared the Good News of Jesus with her, helping her to see how much Jesus cares for her. As Jyoti listened, she began to feel that He could deliver her from these problems.

Jyoti confided in the team about the troubles she was facing because her husband was not working and asked them to pray that he would get a job.

They gladly prayed and encouraged her with God’s Word from Philippians 4:6, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayers and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”

The next Sunday, Jyoti came to the local church and shared how God in His mercy had given her husband a job. Knowing this was truly a miracle, Jyoti now comes to church regularly.

In villages just like Jyoti’s, hundreds of women wait to hear the Good News. Find out how women missionaries can reach them.
