A Surprise Film

It was a hot, rainy day when a Gospel for Asia (GFA)-supported film team, led by Aadit, traveled to a hidden village. Sweat trickled down their heads as they carried the heavy equipment on their shoulders through the narrow path leading to the village. They knew the hard work would be worth it for the villagers to hear of God’s love for the first time. This wasn’t the only time they labored to carry heavy equipment into a remote area of Asia where God’s love had never been heard.

Film Team Ministers to Crowd Through ‘The Passion of the Christ’

This is Aadit, a Gospel for Asia (GFA)-supported worker. He and his team share the love of Jesus wherever they go.

At 5:30 p.m., the film team had finally finished with the work of carrying the equipment into the little village. But there was no time to rest. When the team arrived, suddenly men and women, young and old, came running out of their homes to meet them. The children were jumping up and down, excited to see a film. To everyone’s surprise they found out the movie they were screening was not just any film, it was about a man named Jesus. It was the movie “The Passion of the Christ.”

When it started getting dark at about 6:30 p.m., Aadit and the film team, after a time of prayer, started up the projector. Before a small crowd, the film unfolded the life of Jesus. As the movie went on, the crowd grew to 95 people.

Film Team Sees People Come to Know God’s Love

By the time the film faded to black, 10 people came to know Christ after witnessing His love for humanity as shown in the film. Aanchal was one of them.

Aanchal was married and had three sons. As the crowd learned about the significance of Christ’s sacrifice, the Holy Spirit ministered to their hearts. That night, Aanchal and one of her sons made a wholehearted commitment to Jesus

Even though the family experienced heartache after one of Aanchal’s sons ran away from home, they continued to grow in their love for the Lord and trust Him in their situation. They started attending a fellowship led by a Gospel for Asia (GFA)-supported pastor.

Because of the film team’s hard work and desire for people to know the love they found in Jesus, Aanchal and others are drawing closer to their Savior.
